Without a doubt - no promoter and no venue.

Prince and band should go make a deal with the owner of a large bar or theater and put on a substitute "surprise" show.
That would be a good PR move, even if the Stadium gig wasn't his fault.

At the end it doesn´t matter if it was P´s fault or not.
The fans are pretty pissed and lost a lot of money on this.
And it´s not like this is the first time that this happens so:

He IS kinda responsible for that because it´s his tour and his concerts.
It´s too easy to say u can´t blame Prince for that although he isn´t responsible for this disaster in 1st case.

Get a better promoter next time with a tour schedule that give people some time to act and plan their things.
And get some more advertisements and promotion for the concerts so they have a chance to sell out.
And most important, talk to the people and give them the right information asap and don´t let the people
that supports u all over the years stand in the rain. It´s all about communication.

How true you are!

Communication seems to be soo difficult these days. I wish we had something like the Internet to talk to each other, but unfortunately the Internet died just a few weeks ago and theres nothing we can do about it

why not go to geneva anyways since you already paid for it and enjoy city sights, also maybe there will be some kind of smaller club show since the band is there...

I need to vent..... You know I just can't accept that Prince is not responsible for what has happened and how it was handled. We are not customers of Resaplus or the promoter but of Prince....we buy tickets to see him play music...and it happens to be that we have to go through a ticket agent. You must act professionally when it comes to things like this... Ok the concert was postponed...to the 23rd.... I dealt with that....sometimes things happen...BUT don't reshedule if you are still not sure that it will not happen and leave everyone hangin' AGAIN!!!!! I spoke with promoters here in Greece and asked them how the deal is made with artists for concerts...they get 30percent when they sign the deal....30percent a month before the event...and the rest a week before the event......so according to my calculations he is covered....Us folks???? we are screwed!!!! SO I would have appreciated him to pressure the promoter to act more professionally toward HIS clients"fans" and at least comment on what has happened ....release a statement....something......DO a surprise concert in a club or small venue for the fans that shlepped all the way there and spent money on airfare hotel ,took time off work, etc.....Prince knows the difference between whats right and wrong....living the righteous way......respect your fans.... its a shame.....and it has upset a lot of people.......ughh so annoying....selfish and childlike.......

You are so right, but actually, as far as I know, Prince hasn't cancelled yet!! The website only says; no tickets for sale at the moment, it doesn't say cancelled! He referred to that the stage isn't built yet? But, the girls in the band said yesterday, they know of NO cancelleation? They promissed a friend of mine to mention a cancellation on FB as soon as they know more! Will take my trip to Geneve anyway, have fun and then go to NICE as scheduled! Party On!

There is no two ways about it: The show will not happen.
Prince is not the one canceling this. He is willing to play. But there is no venue.
The issue is between the venue and the promoter. Conditions (like a down-payment to be paid by the promoter to the stadium) were not met. As a result no preparations were made to built any stage.

None of this has anything to do with Prince. This time it really is beyond his control.
It's simply unprofessional of the promoter that there is no official communication about the cancellation but there definitely will be no show tomorrow in Stade de Genève.

Prince does have to do with it....because he chose them as a medium to sell tickets for HIS concert......so he at least should release a friggin statement on his part....acknowledge the effort of his fans that despite the date being changed that they still made the effort to be there...clear the air....separate himself from the mess...SOMETHING....please its ridiculous.....In Prince's words the internet is dead.....so if thats the case.....I would have arrived in geneva tomorrow and took the cab straight to the stadium...and be like???? where the heck is everyone!!!!! I'm sorry its just not acceptable....You are either professional or you are not....no inbetween mumbo jumbo.....You know what.... I have part to blame too....Because I am such a sucker for Prince......what a shame.....I am so dissapointed with everything........thank you MoQuake....thanks for letting me vent..........Prince please prove me wrong elsewise......

I called resaplus....they confirmed absolutely no concert in the stadium tomorrow.... and they still have to announce what that means for us paying customers...

If Prince wants to act professionally on his part.....he should release a statement to clear the air...and not wait for some nincompoop who messed up everything in the first place!!!!!

It seems that there's been a dispute between the two promoters and, as a result, the venue was not secured. This has left the gear almost in Geneva, Prince with nowhere to play, five days of downtime , and a whole heap of pissed off and out of pocket fans - not good.

As Mister T said, P didn't have anything to do with the cancellation, however pissed off and out of pocket fans is pissed off and out of pocket fans - everyone will get blamed I'm sure.

Prince needs to do a deal with bigger promotion companies, these small guys just seem to mess things up all the time or get a manager he can trust to help in the booking of gig's ...just a big waste of time for all.

I'm sure fans, prince are really pissed off about this!
